ACADEMY

Youth Program

Driven by a passion for ballet, we strive to be a cornerstone of excellence in dance education within our community. Through innovative teaching methods and a nurturing environment, we aim to inspire a lifelong love for ballet, ensuring that students not only develop technical proficiency but also a deep appreciation for the art form.

Teen & Adult Program

Our objective is to make ballet accessible to everyone. We believe that it is never too late to start ballet training, regardless of age, fitness level, gender, or ability. At Ballet Etude Academy, adults will be taken through the same methodical training as our young students go through. There are no shortcuts in ballet and we believe that adults deserve the same careful and thoughtful training as children. Our instructors are hands on and detail oriented and will tailor the exercises given to fit your current ability. We work to cultivate an inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment from the moment you step into our classroom.

POLICIES & DRESS CODE

In order to create an environment where all of our students feel welcome, as well as maintain a professional level of ballet training, we have set policies on attendance, dress code and student conduct.

OUR CURRICULUM

How We Teach and Why

Ballet Etude Academy uses the renowned curriculum from the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Created by Founder Marcia Dale Weary, the curriculum progresses in an incremental and logical way that prepares students for a successful career in the dance world and beyond. Our instructors are trained in the CPYB curriculum, which emphasizes correct alignment, technique, strength, and artistry.

At Ballet Etude Academy, we understand that the benefits of ballet training go deeper than just creating successful dancers. The discipline, commitment, and hard work required for ballet develops character and an ability to function at a high level in society, regardless of chosen career path. We hold our students to a high standard, and in doing so they will develop invaluable life skills that will help them to succeed!

Ballet Etude is very inclusive and prioritizes their dancers. The instructors get to know you as an individual and provide plenty of options for dancers of different levels. They provide technical and classical instruction while still allowing their dancers to express themselves through hair color, tattoos, piercings, etc., which makes it a uniquely welcoming environment that focuses on what you can do, not what you shouldn't.
